Personal:

I'm married to a very supportive, although slightly less enthusiastic runner than I.  Alisha has run a little with me and participated in several 5k's, but mostly she supports me at races.  She ran her first half in November, 2011.  We have a son who was born in 2010, the year that I ran my first marathon.  I participated in my first Triathlon in April 2011.  I think I may have been bitten by the Ironman bug.  Though an Ironman finish is a long term goal, I want to BQ first.

I find that the more I run the more I want to run.  I consider my self a running addict.  I like the motto: pain is weakness leaving your body.

Sunday morning run with Kevin and Keith.  My legs are feeling good, but I'm going to take at least another week off before I run again.

I converted my Ravenna 2's into screw shoes for this snowy run.  I ran an easy 10, but I probably should have only gone about 6.  Running in the deep snow for at least 1 to 2 miles really takes it out of you.  My knees started bothering me a bit about 4.25 miles in.  By the time I got back to my neighborhood my legs were trashed.  I have missed this feeling.  This is only the third time I've run in the past two weeks due to marathon recovery.

It got cold fast this morning! When I left the house to run it was 59 degrees. By the time I got back it was 37 with a wind chill of 27, and I was only gone about 45 minutes. How do you dress for that?

Saturday morning run with Jack, Michael, and Kyle through the Riverside/Utica Square/ Downtown areas.  Even though I have worked there for years, I have never actually run this part of town.  I really enjoyed the route as opposed to the very monotonous Creek Turnpike Trail system near my part of town.  We got 11 miles at a 7:24 pace.  It was 28 degrees.

They do their long runs differently than I typically do.  They had 3 water/bathroom stops along this route.  Riverside, St. John's Hopsital, and The Hyatt downtwon were all conveniently located along the way.  Maybe I don't stop regularly because there aren't really any places like that to stop at on the Creek Trail besides one hospital.  In any case I thought that three stops on an 11 mile route two or three more than I would prefer unless needed.  I'm just used to running with my hydration belt I guess.  I can see that on hot summer days having these three stops would be very nice.
